Smile - Joy, Happiness, Hope, Confidence

Snap On Smile

Good oral hygiene is an essential part of maintaining overall health. The best way to start is to have a dental cleaning.  A cleaning is "the removal of dental plaque, dental calculus, and stains from the exposed and unexposed surfaces of the teeth by scaling and polishing as a preventive measure for the control of local irritants."  This prophylaxis thoroughly cleans the teeth to help maintain health and stop the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Bacteria that exists in the mouth can infect the gum tissue that surrounds teeth which may lead to inflammation and periodontal disease.  When the bacteria stay on the teeth long enough without being removed it will harden into tartar, also known as calculus.  This calculus can build up along and below the gum line, making it harder to remove. Unfortunately when this situation exists a good home care routine is not enough, a professional cleaning is needed to remove the calculus and restore a healthy dental environment.

In our office we use Boost (TM) Whitening which is a hydrogen peroxide gel that whitens teeth from the inside-out.  Boost has been recognized in studies and publications as being a leader of in-office dental whitening and it is what we recommend.

At Dr. Kellyann's, we place barriers on your gums and cheeks and a coating on your lips so that the whitening gel is only in contact with your teeth.  The gel will stay on your teeth for 2 cycles of 20 minutes each as you sit and relax in a calm relaxing atmosphere filled with lovely scents and sounds. At the end of your session your smile will be shades lighter.  However, your treatment will consist of another session or perhaps 2 if needed.

For our patients that have extremely sensitive teeth, we are able to provide for them what has been considered the gold standard of whitening, "Take-Home Trays".  Syringes of whitening gel is placed inside the trays and worn daily.  A financial benefit of this option is that whenever you want to touch up your whitening, you only need to purchase the gel not the whole system.

Snap-on Smile® is a patented dental appliance that requires no prepping, no injections, and no adhesives. Its exclusive design is flexible, incredibly strong, and snaps right over a patient’s natural teeth. Its retention is completely tooth-borne, so the appliance does not impinge on the gum tissue nor cover the palate, making it look and feel very natural.  Snap-On Smile® is easily removable, completely reversible and is an excellent option for patients looking for a non-invasive, affordable approach to restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Snap-On Smile® is much more than a beautiful set of white teeth. This revolutionary appliance is the ideal solution for solving a wide variety of short- and long-term clinical challenges, as it serves as both a non-invasive restorative option as well as a diagnostic appliance. Applications include using Snap-On Smile® as aesthetic provisionals for implant restorations, as a vehicle for increasing facial height (vertical dimension), as cosmetic removable partial dentures, and even as a long-term smile enhancement.

Snap-On Smile® can last for years and yet is affordable enough to be temporary.  It has also proven to be terrific for patients who are in need of but are hesitant to commit to more involved restorative treatment.

The smile is our window to the world, and it's the first thing that makes an impression on people we meet. So it's no wonder that more and more people are turning to cosmetic dentistry for corrective procedures and aesthetic enhancement.

So whether you want to fix a chipped tooth or get a complete smile makeover, we can help you achieve the smile you've always wanted. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact us today.

What are Veneers?

One of the most popular and effective developments in cosmetic dentistry and an ideal choice of treatment to give a radiant smile.  Veneers are ultra- thin, custom made shells that cover the front side of your teeth. Veneers are used to correct uneven teeth, worn enamel, discoloration, chipped teeth and irregular spacing,  Once bonded in place, they blend in beautifully with your other teeth and continue to look In some cases, veneers can serve a restorative purpose and can protect a damaged tooth from further harm. Every patient is different, so each case is designed to match

What Does the Procedure Involve?

After a thorough examination of your teeth, which may include X-rays and taking impressions of your teeth,  a thin layer of enamel will be removed from your teeth.  An impression will be taken and sent to a laboratory to create the veneer. While the mold is being created, you may be given temporary veneers. On the final visit, the veneer's color and esthetics are confirmed before they are adhered permanently.

What Are the Advantages of Veneers?

Veneers can give your teeth a more natural, radiant smile. They are highly stain resistant and  virtually undetectable. Veneers have the appearance of healthy enamel, and are by far a beautiful treatment choice to give a confident and radiant smile.
